Naomi Abel-Hirsch is a London-based director and producer. She has worked in production on documentaries for BBC, Netflix, Hulu and Peacock, helping shape them editorially. She is also a contributor to the We Are Doc Women programming team.
Her debut short documentary, Rose's House, which she directed and produced independently, traces the life of Martine Rose - who in 1979 renovated a terraced house in Sheffield and opened it to a community of trans people. Made over two years with Martine and previously unseen archive, Rose's House will have its world premiere at Sheffield DocFest 2026.
Naomi's work is driven by a longstanding interest in modern history and the communities that shape it - particularly stories that have gone untold.
